TPMS equipment splits cleanly into three jobs: reading a sensor, replacing or programming one, and keeping the small parts that go with either job organized and on hand.

Diagnostic tools

Two OBDII diagnostic tools cover sensor reading and triggering: the DY-46 diagnostic tool with OBDII, and the DY-47, which carries its OBDII connection internally.

Sensors: retrofit versus programmable

Retrofit TPMS sensors replace a failed factory sensor with a matching part, while the DVT-PRO multi-frequency programmable sensor and the TPMS valve stem/pro-select programmable sensor starter kit let a shop program one sensor design to cover multiple vehicle protocols instead of stocking a sensor per make. Which approach makes sense depends on how wide a range of vehicles come through the bay.

Service tools and storage

Day-to-day TPMS work runs on a set of small, specific tools: the 4-way valve tool, valve stem puller, T6 screwdriver, grommet pick and removal tools, and the valve core and sensor torque tools that keep installation torque consistent. The sensor/service kit/tool storage cabinet, TPMS storage cabinets, and the JDI-SC45 Smart Cart mobile storage cart keep those small parts from scattering across the bay.
